3 Tips To Help You Buy a Home

Here are three home buying tips that will help the process along.

Today we want to share three tips to help you when buying a home:

1. Understand your financial situation. Having a conversation with a lender who specializes in home loans, understands your local market, and can go over your financing options is a critical part of the process.

Lenders are looking for people who have at least 3% saved for a down payment, a healthy credit score, a low debt-to-income ratio, and consistent employment. Once they confirm all of those documents, they can provide you with a pre-approval letter, which we need to put an offer on a home. That letter will also tell you the maximum amount you can afford.

“A good agent will know how to write winning offers.”

2. Know what’s important to you in a home. Do you want a single-family home, townhouse, or condo? Do you want a fixer-upper or new construction? Once we understand your needs, we can be more decisive in the search and find a home much faster.

3. Work with a real estate agent you connect with. A good agent, like myself, will think outside the box, be extremely personable, understand the Seattle market, and know how to write winning offers. I always start my relationships with buyer consults. In those consultations, we talk about your needs, the pre-approval process, how to write an offer, and the steps we’ll take once we win your future home.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me or anyone on the team. We would love to help you.
