The 3 Things Agents Should Be Telling You

There are certain things that any good agent should be telling you.

There are three things that a good agent should be sharing with their clients:

1. “There’s more.” It’s easy to find homes on sites like Redfin and Zillow, but your agent has access to many properties that can’t be found online. They should be making you aware of these homes, as well as places that will be coming on the market soon.

"Find an agent who isn’t afraid to be honest with you, and you’ll enjoy a fulfilling relationship with someone who truly cares about your goals."

2. “Wait.” Your agent should go to bat for you on every offer you write, but they should also know when to advise you that it’s best to wait. Sometimes, homebuyers can fall in love with a place that doesn’t actually fit their needs or wants. A good agent can help you break through the emotional attachment you may have with a home. Agents should also educate you on market trends and purchase processes so you know exactly what to expect.

3. “I don’t know.” For many agents, this is easier said than done. For me, however, I value honesty, transparency, and integrity in my relationships. It means there are times when I have to say, “I don’t know, but I’ll find out,” instead of pretending to understand something I don’t. Find an agent who isn’t afraid to be honest with you, and you’ll enjoy a fulfilling relationship with someone who truly cares about your goals.
